Announcement for Candidates for April 2019 Municipal Election

 

Notice is hereby given that a general municipal election shall be held in the City of Crystal Lake Park, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, to select an Alderperson Ward 1 and an Alderperson Ward 2, for two-year terms of office.

 

Interested residents must appear in person before the St. Louis County Board of Elections for candidate filing with a valid Missouri Driver’s License.  Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as stipulated by the city’s ordinance*.

 

Filing will open December 11, 2018 at 8:00 AM and close January 15, 2019 at 5:00 PM. Filing will otherwise take place during St. Louis County Board of Elections’ normal business hours; the Board of Elections may close as a result of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The St. Louis County Board of Elections’ office is located at 725 Northwest Plaza Drive, St. Ann, MO 63074. Normal office hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday. At the time of filing, a copy of a notarized affidavit declaring no delinquency of local and state taxes shall be provided. The affidavit form can be found online at http://dor.mo.gov/forms/5120.pdf or may be picked up at the St. Louis County Board of Elections’ office prior to filing. It is the responsibility of the filer to submit the original affidavit to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

*Municipal Code, Section 110.010: “No person shall be an Alderman unless he/she be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election, and a resident, at the time he/she files and during the time he/she serves, of the ward from which he/she is elected.”
