Announcement for Candidates for April 5, 2022 Municipal Election

 Notice is hereby given that a general municipal election shall be held in the City of Crystal Lake Park, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, to select the following:

·         Mayor – 2-year term, 1 to be elected

·         Alderperson Ward 1 – 2-year term, 1 to be elected

·         Alderperson Ward 2 – 2-year term, 1 to be elected

·         Alderperson Ward 2 – Unexpired term ending April 2023, 1 to be elected

At time of filing, residents interested in Alderperson Ward 2 must indicate the office they are filing for candidacy, the full term (2 years) or the unexpired term (1 year). Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as stipulated by the city’s ordinance.

Qualifications for Aldermen and Mayor can be found within the following sections of the city’s code:

Section 110.010Aldermen — Qualifications.

Section 110.020Mayor — Qualifications.

Candidates can file between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from December 7, 2021 through December 28, 2021. (On the last day of candidate filing only, candidate filing ends at 5:00 p.m.)

First day filers will select a number by random drawing to determine placement on the ballot. After the first day, candidates will be placed on the ballot in the order of their filing.

Board of Election offices will be closed on December 9, 24, and 25. The office may be closed due to inclement weather. Masks are required to enter the building. Further information can be found via the following website: http://www.stlouisco.com/YourGovernment/Elections

At the time of filing, a copy of a notarized affidavit declaring no delinquency of local and state taxes shall be provided. The affidavit form can be found online at https://dor.mo.gov/forms/5120.pdf or may be picked up at the St. Louis County Board of Elections’ office prior to filing. It is the responsibility of the filer to submit the original affidavit to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
