Crystal Lake Park COVID-19 Update

On May 13, 2021, the CDC issued guidelines in terms of mask usage and social distancing, “Those who are fully vaccinated, meaning that they have received all necessary doses and waited two weeks, may resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. People who are not fully vaccinated (those who are not at least two weeks post-completion of a vaccination series) remain at risk of contracting and transmitting the virus. To protect their own health and the health of people around them, it is vital that those not fully vaccinated continue to wear a face covering when in public around other people, practice social distancing, and maintain other CDC-recommended measures to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2,” (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html)

As per guidelines issued by St. Louis County on May 17, 2021, “In most cases, fully vaccinated people are no longer required by law to wear masks. However, people who haven’t been fully vaccinated still need to do so whenever they are in public or around people outside their household. Likewise, there are still situations where everyone needs a mask, like on buses and trains, in health care facilities, and anywhere so crowded that social distancing is impossible,” https://stlcorona.com/dr-pages-messages/covid-19-safe-operating-protocols/masking-faq/).

In keeping with the guidelines issued by the CDC and St. Louis County, at the May 17, 2021 Board of Alderpersons Special Meeting, the board lifted the mask and capacity requirements for fully vaccinated individuals at the playground, this also includes the splash pad.

Additionally, at the May 17, 2021 Board of Alderpersons Special Meeting, the board stated that any and all inquiries regarding the park, playground and splash pad are to be directed to Peg Crockett, Park Commissioner, (pegcrockett1@gmail.com or 314-809-3762).
