posted Sep 4, 2020, 12:13 PM by City Clerk   [ updated Sep 4, 2020, 12:30 PM ]

On September 4, 2020, the St. Louis County Department of Health approved the city’s playground reopening plan and signage. As was discussed at the August 24, 2020 Board of Alderpersons meeting, once approved, the playground would not open until the signage was installed. The signage was ordered on September 4, 2020. We will continue to keep residents apprised in regards to the status of the reopening. Please do not remove the caution tape surrounding the playground and please refrain from utilizing the playground until city officials have installed the required signage. We appreciate your continued patience.

Please see the St. Louis County Department of Health Face Covering Modified Guidelines that went into effect on August 24, 2020.

In addition to the approval of the reopening plan, the St. Louis County Department of Health provided the following statement:

Warning:  Scientific evidence clearly establishes that when groups of individuals gather together or are exposed to others outside of their own households there is a higher risk of transmission of COVID-19.  While this operations plan has been approved by the Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH) because it meets the minimum standards to provide protective measures, if actually followed, a risk still exists for transmission of the virus.  All visitors of to the playgrounds need to understand the risks of gatherings and exposure to others and to personally assume those risks. DPH does not guarantee the safety of visitors of the playgrounds with respect to the dangers of potential transmission of COVID-19 by approving this operations plan.
