Hunter Park Update

May 11, 2020

On May 8, 2020, the St. Louis County Department of Health released "Business and Individual Guidelines for Social Distancing and Re-Opening." The official order is attached to this announcement.

As per the May 8, 2020 order, the playground at Hunter Park will remain closed. However, the green space areas to the north and south of the playground remain open, following social distancing guidelines as per the CDC. Please see Page 4, Number 7 of the attached order.

Although some parks in our region are reopening, they are for “passive use” only. Passive use is biking, walking, running, following social distancing guidelines. However, playgrounds, restrooms, pavilions remain closed as social distancing cannot be controlled.  Other municipalities are following suit in terms of soft openings of their parks for passive use only but facilities, including playgrounds, remain closed.

As per the order, “While encouraging St. Louis County residents to continue to stay at home when possible and avoid situations that increase their risk of exposure to the virus, effective May 18, 2020, the order eases restrictions on individuals and businesses, including allowing businesses to resume operating or continue operations, so long as they do so in alignment with the order and with the intent to protect employees and patrons.”

Thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times. Health and safety first.
