St. Louis County COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Vaccine Response in St. Louis County

The St. Louis County Department of Public Health has administered more than 170,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, to date.

On May 16, DPH launched a comprehensive effort to partner with churches, businesses, libraries and non-profits to offer neighborhood clinics in North County. Since then, DPH has conducted 133 neighborhood vaccination clinics in 78 locations. Most of those locations were in North County. DPH’s biggest neighborhood event was in partnership with the Hispanic Leaders Group where 141 COVID-19 doses were administered at the John F Kennedy Community Center in Florissant.

In the past eight weeks, COVID-19 vaccination rates have grown the fastest in North County ZIP codes.

 ZIP code 63140 had a 9.5% increase

  • ZIP code 63133 had an 8.5% increase
  • ZIP code 63134 had an 8% increase
  • ZIP code 63135 had a 7.9% increase
  • ZIP code 63136 had a 9.3% increase
  • ZIP code 63137 had a 7.4% increase
  • ZIP code 63138 had an 8.7% increase

Overall the seven ZIP codes saw an 8.2% increase compared to the countywide increase of 6.3% in the past eight weeks.

DPH has also been partnering with barber shops, beauty shops and churches, mostly in North County where there have been long-standing health disparities. To date, DPH staff have visited 35 beauty shops and barber shops apart of the #SleevesUpSTL initiative. As a result of these efforts, DPH has distributed 1,155 flyers and 66 posters regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. DPH has also provided 35 boxes of face masks and more than 200 bottles of hand sanitizer as part of this initiative.

DPH continues to have free COVID-19 vaccine clinics across St. Louis County. Most welcome walk-ups, and many allow you the availability to schedule an appointment at your convenience. COVID-19 vaccines are available to anyone 12 and older and they are safe and effective. A complete list of events can be found here.
