 St. Louis County COVID-19 Update

 Updated Travel Guidance

With the holiday season right around the corner, many individuals are expected to gather with family and friends for the holidays. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance ahead of the holidays for those planning to travel. The CDC recommends individuals delay domestic and international travel until they are fully vaccinated. For those that are not fully vaccinated and must travel, the CDC recommends:

  • Get tested 1-3 days before travel
  • Check your destinations travel requirements
  • Wear a mask on all forms of public transportation
  • Avoid crowds and continue to social distance
  • Wash hands often
  • Get tested 3-5 days after travel and stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel

Individuals who are sick with symptoms, have been exposed to COVID-19 or test positive should not travel even if they are fully vaccinated. All travelers, regardless of vaccination status, should wear a mask, take other safety precautions and self-monitor for symptoms. For additional information on traveling, see CDC: Travel during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

There is still time to become fully vaccinated ahead of the holidays. Individuals who are eligible for COVID-19 booster doses are encouraged to get their booster dose before traveling. DPH also recommends that everyone 6 months and older get the flu vaccine. You can get a COVID-19 vaccine/booster and a flu vaccine at the same time. DPH offers daily COVID-19 vaccines, booster doses and flu shots at any of our three health centers, located in Berkeley, Pine Lawn, and Sunset Hills.
