St. Louis County COVID-19 Update

St. Louis County Vaccine Incentive Program to Launch Saturday

Beginning Saturday, September 25, any St. Louis County resident that gets a COVID-19 shot at a County-sponsored vaccination event can enroll in the vaccine incentive program. Once individuals complete the vaccination process, a $100 grocery gift card and a $50 gasoline card will be mailed to their homes. Gift cards will not be handed out at events.

The vaccine incentive program, proposed by Councilwoman Shalonda Webb, is intended to encourage residents to protect themselves and the community against COVID-19 by initiating and completing the vaccination process. Vaccines are the best tool to fight the pandemic and return to normal.

To qualify for this incentive, individuals must:

  • Live in St. Louis County
  • Be 12 years of age or older
  • Get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at a Department of Public Health (DPH) vaccination event. Full vaccination requires getting two shots of either the Pfizer vaccine or the Moderna vaccine, or getting one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Once DPH confirms that an individual is fully vaccinated, gift cards will be mailed out. Cards will be sent to qualifying individuals via certified mail to the address they provide during registration. It is important the name and address given at the vaccine site are correct.

Each person is limited to one grocery card and one gas card. Funding from the federal government will allow about 5,000 people to receive gift cards through the program. Gift cards will be available only while supplies last.

Vaccine events only sponsored by DPH on or after Saturday qualify for the gift card program. COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and free. To find a convenient time and location, visit
